Bryan Robson joins footballing legends in Lagos for Soccerex Seminar

Soccerex is excited to announce that ex-England and Manchester United captain and current Manchester United Ambassador, Bryan Robson has been confirmed alongside George Weah as part of a star studded session on “The Beautiful Game” at the Soccerex Seminar Lagos, 27-28 September 2012.

Starting his career at West Bromwich Albion, Robson moved to Manchester United where he made 461 appearances for the club. He became the longest serving captain in the club’s history, scoring 99 goals in the process. He is regarded as one of the finest players ever to play for the club and was voted the greatest ever Manchester United player from a poll of ex-United players. He was capped 90 times by England and earned the nickname of ‘Captain Marvel’ for his heroic performances in an England shirt. After retiring from the game he returned to the club as a Manchester United Ambassador in 2008 where his role alongside Sir Bobby Charlton is to promote the clubs commercial and charitable aims worldwide.

“The Beautiful Game” session will involve a selection of footballing legends including Robson and Weah discussing the latest issues affecting the game but will also look back at some memorable moments from their glittering careers, including Robson’s title trophy winning days at United and Weah’s incredible career that saw him crowned World, European and African footballer of the year in 1995.

With the aim of promoting the development of football in West Africa, through providing focused learning and business opportunities, the Soccerex Seminar Lagos will feature a mix of football’s leading decision-makers joining business experts for an in-depth, two-day event made up of a conference, networking and social events. A timetable of events can be found online which outlines the conference key speakers and timings.
