AYC QUALIFIER: Flying Eagles Set South Africa date after Tanzania victory

The Flying Eagles of Nigeria has booked a place in the third round of the African Youth Championship Qualifier after a two nil victory over their Ngorogoro Heroes of Tanzania.

The match which was played at the Kwara state stadium Complex ilorin the State capital saw Atupele Green of Tanzania coming close to score in the third minute after an erroneous clearance from the Flying Eagles defense.

Nigeria and Dolphins Football Club of Port Harcourt midfielder Ajagun Abduljeleel scored the first goal in the thirteenth minute into the game with a superb finish from outside the eighteen yard box.

In the twenty first minute,Nigeria Bright Ejike scored another superb header but the centre referee Gev Iyeke from Liberia ruled it offside.

Tanzania Ruhava Samir was cautioned in the thirty first minute after bringing down a Nigerian player in the midfield.

Nigeria came close to scoring again in the forty first minute after Bright Ejike dribbled the defence line of the Tanzanians,Ajagun Abduljeleel was cautioned in the forty second minute for diving.

Nigeria came back stronger in the second half dominating the proceedings of the game but the young Tanzanians proved to be up to the task stopping the attacking instinct of the John Obuh tutored side.

Nigeria dominance of the game paid off in the sixty fifth minute when two goals hero in the first leg in Tanzania Gero Saliu scored from the spot to make it two for the Flying Eagles.

The Flying Eagles had in Tanzania a forth night ago defeated the Ngorogoro Heroes of Tanzania by two goals to one.

The Flying Eagles victory means they will meet South Africa in the third round of the qualifiers on the twenty second of September in South africa and the second leg a forth night after.
