Arsenal have reportedly lodged a £24million bid for Sami Khedira with Real Madrid, but have been stunned by the player’s £153,000-a-week wage demands.

The Gunners, who are on the lookout for a new defensive midfielder this summer, are understood to have launched an offer for Khedira this morning following his starring role forGermany in their World Cup rout over Brazil.

However, Spanish outlet 25 Hour Sport claims the 27-year-old has thrown a spanner in the works of any potential deal by demanding a whopping £8m per year to move to the Emirates.

The report makes no mention of whether Arsenal’s initial bid has been accepted or not, but should Khedira’s salary expectations remain as they are, it’s unlikely a deal will ever get beyond the negotiating table.

The 25-year-old‚Äôs barber Carlos Moles wrote on his Facebook page that Sanchez had popped in for a final cut ‚Äď before moving for Arsenal.

Alexis Sanchez visited us to say goodbye. As reported, he’ll join Arsenal,’ he posted, along with a photo of the pair hugging.

Luis Suarez is expected to complete his transfer to Barcelona in the next 48 hours with the Liverpool striker currently undertaking a medical with the La Liga club.

Barca were given permission to hold talks with Suarez late last week after their offer of about £63million was accepted by the Reds.

The striker’s agent has since travelled to Catalonia to thrash out personal terms on a five-year contract which will see him earn around £170,000-a-week.

Suarez will fly to Spain to formally sign his contract once a medical has been completed, which is being undertaken under the supervision of Barca doctors in Uruguay.

The transfer will be part-funded by Alexis Sanchez’s £30million switch to Arsenal, but AS reports that Liverpool will only receive about £54million of the Suarez fee up front.

Egypt international Ahmed Fathi is set to undergo a trial with Arsenal following the conclusion of the Egyptian Premier League this week, Al Ahly football director Alaa Abdel-Sadek confirmed.

Al Ahly’s Ahmed Fathi, a finalist for the 2013 CAF Player of the Year (Based in Africa) award, after winning the Champions League with the Red Devils for the second time consecutively last year, is set to undergo a 10-day trial with Arsenal.

The 29-year-old right-back,¬†known as a ‚Äėjoker‚Äô in Egypt for his versatility as he can fill in anywhere across the back-line or as a defensive midfielder, won‚Äôt¬†depart for England until after Al Ahly‚Äôs final league game of the season ‚Äď a title-deciding clash against Smouha on Monday ‚Äďthe club‚Äôs¬†football department director¬†Alaa Abdel-Sadek revealed in televised remarks.

‚ÄúFathi is staying with us till the last game of the league and we will not let him travel to England before the match against Smouha,‚Ä̬†Abdel-Sadek¬†stressed.

“Fathi did not ask to start his trial period at Arsenal before the matches against Zamalek or Petrojet.

‚ÄúWe have not yet guaranteed winning the league title so that we can allow Fathi to travel to England. We have a decisive match against Smouha which will decide who wins the league,‚ÄĚ the club‚Äôs director¬†concluded.

The veteran defender’s contract is set to expire this summer, and he has already been heavily linked to Saudi Arabian side Ittihad Jeddah, and previously to Nottingham Forest.

KingFut.com¬†understands Arsenal¬†sent scouts to watch the Egyptian in action with the¬†national team in Santiago, where the¬†Pharaohs fell 3-2 against an Alexis Sanchez-inspired Chile¬†‚Äď a player now¬†heavily linked with a move to the Emirates.

This would be Fathi’s second trial with the Gunners, as he was previously tested as a 20-year-old by Wenger in 2004, and participated in a 2-1 friendly win against Grazer AK, before joining Sheffield United.

The Egypt international has gone one to be named CAF’s right-back of the year in 2010 and 2012, and played a crucial role in the national team’s historic three consecutive Africa Cup of Nations triumphs in 2006, 2008 and 2010.

Fathi, who has been capped over 100 times by his country, had a frustrating spell at Hull City in the Championship during the 2012/2013, as he was only given one start in seven appearances for the Tigers.Fathi

Arsenal have been given the green light to complete their move for Alexis Sanchez after Barcelona reportedly accepted a £32 million bid for the Chilean.

The Gunners have been trying to push through a deal for the 25-year-old for the past two months, but have now seemingly settled on a payment plan for the in-demand striker.

According to Goal.com, Arsenal will hold further talks with Sanchez’s people in the next 48-hours ahead of wrapping up a deal.

However, any formal announcement is likely to be delayed until Barca can complete their own move for Liverpool’s Luis Suarez.

The Reds hoped to include Sanchez in any deal for Suarez, but the player is favouring a move to the Emirates, with his agent recently following the club and some of their stars on Twitter.
